오늘 소개해드릴 음악은 드라마 닥터스에 삽입되었던 The La's(더 라스) - There She Goes라는 곡이에요 :-)

김래원이 공중전화박스 앞에서 비 맞으면서 춤췄던 그 곡! 지홍쌤과 혜정이가 첫 키스를 했던 신 BGM입니다.

이 곡은 1983년부터 1992년까지 활동했던 영국의 록 밴드 라스가 1990년에 발매한 데뷔 음반이자 유일한 정규 음반에 수록된 곡인데요.

리 메이버스(Lee Mavers, 리드보컬, 기타), 존 파워(John Power, 베이스, 기타), 제이 루이스(Jay Lewis, 기타), 닉 미니스키(Nick Miniski, 드럼) 로 구성된 밴드로, 리드 싱어이자 송라이터인 리 메이버스가 〈The La’s〉 의 앨범 곡을 모두 썼다는 사실! 

사실 제겐 더 라스의 곡보다 Sixpence None the Richer(식스펜스 넌 더 리처) 의 리메이크 버전이 친숙해요.

90년대 컴필레이션 음반에 꼭 수록되기도 했고, 2000년대 초 한 통신사 광고음악으로도 쓰여 국내에 유명해졌죠.

최근 드라마 닥터스에서 김래원이 레코드 가게에서 더 라스의  "There She Goes" 찾는 장면을 보고

 Sixpence None the Richer 의 곡이 원곡이 아니라는 걸 처음 알게 되었어요.

80~90년대 영국 락 밴드 더 라스의 앨범  〈The La’s〉 트랙에는 There She Goes 뿐만 아니라 영국 얼터너티브 락을 좋아하시는 분들이라면 맘에 드실만한 곡들이 가득 담겨 있으니 전곡도 기회가 된다면 모두 들어보시길^^*
